She was also a member of the Board of Child Welfare its lifetime from 1916 until it was discontinued in 1944 and headed the Clothing Bureau during its existence. In 1943, "Delarah", a novel by Demetra Vaka, was dedicated to Mrs. Lusk, the author's "first American friend" whom she met while a student at Hunter College. The author learned the rudiments of the English language from Mrs. Lusk who spoke several languages. Mrs. Lusk toured England, Scotland, France and Belgium in 1927, and 1928 and in 1929 attended the graduation of her daughter, Elinor from Sorhonne University in Paris.
