Henry was born Oct. 27, 1917, the son of Prokopius and Mary Ann (Doll) Geiger, in rural Morton County. He attended school in rural Morton County, and began farming and ranching in the 30s. He married Monica Schmidt on June 17, 1941, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mandan. They farmed and ranched in Morton County until 1947 when they moved to Burleigh County, where he farmed and ranched until his death.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church from 1947 to 2001. He was on the Gibbs Township board for 20 years, and was also a member of the Eagles Club for 25 years.
Henry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Monica; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Henry Jr. and special friend Yvonne Schafer, and Gilbert and Becky, all of Center; three grandchildren, Gregory, Center, and Christine and Elizabeth, both of Fargo; one brother, Chris P., Mandan; four sisters, Pauline Irick, Great Bend, Kan., Eleanor Freidt, Mandan, Frances Schwartzenburger, Renton, Wash., and Clementine Freidt, Minot; two sisters-in-law, Katheryn (George) Geiger and Katherine (Ralph) Geiger, both of Mandan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and George; one sister, Josephine Freidt; and an infant daughter, Monica Marie.
