"Jennie Crandall Penner, youngest daughter of Daniel A. Crandall and Louisa Wright, passed away at her home in Edmeston, Tuesday morning, August 18th, 1931. She was born in Leonardsville July 4th, 1869, the youngest of a family of six, of whom all are gone except Frank of South Edmeston and Lewis of Edmeston. She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Brookfield, having joined in her youth. She was married to Albert Penner, June 26, 1895, and to them were given four children: Charlie, who is at home, Avis Simmons of Edmeston, Beulah Mumbulo, of Pittsfield, and Blanche Rowe of Columbus, all of whom are living to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. Besides the husband and children there are left seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to miss her cheery smile and kindly ways. Her entire life was spent in Brookfield and Edmeston and she was laid to rest at Lamb's Corners, beside her father, mother and two sisters who had gone before."
