Charles W. Mathias
Charles W. MATHIAS, 83, retired farmer residing one mile north of Fulton, died at 1:20 a.m. today at Woodlawn hospital. He had been seriously ill for two weeks. All his life had been spent in Liberty township.
He was born Dec. 27, 1871, in Liberty township to John U. and Madeline (WELCHLY) MATHIAS. On Dec. 24, 1896, he was wed to Eunice SHELTON, who died Sept. 25, 1928. Mr. Mathias was a member of the Fulton E.U.B. church.
Survivng are three sons, Hugh [MATHIAS], R.R. 1, Twelve Mile; Herman [MATHIAS], Fort Wayne, and Ernest [MATHIAS], R.R. 1, Rochester; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Susan APT of Fulton, also survives. One son, Noble [MATHIAS], preceded him in death.
Final rites will be Wed. 2 p.m. CST at the Fulton E.U.B. church with the Rev. Donald ABBEY officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. The body will be taken from the Ditmire funeral home to the residence Tuesday morning where friends may call.
