Mrs. Irene P. Evenson, 86, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, Dec. 25, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Carl W. Peters will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Evenson was born July 22, 1897, in the Town of Liberty, daughter of the late Otto and Ida Luebke Rusch. She was married to Elmer Evenson June 20, 1917, at Valders. He preceded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Evenson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church Women.
Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Inez and Lester Matejovetz of Manitowoc, Violet Burns of Manitowoc, Marian and Hubert Haupt of Manitowoc, Salome and Robert Haupt of Route 1, Manitowoc, Beverly and Robert Schwister of Milwaukee and Walter Kinzel of Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Victor Griffen of Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Belinda Rusch of Shakapee, Minn., and Laura Rusch Trephan of Sheboygan; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Clarabell Kinzel, three brothers, Walter, Hugo and Adolph Rusch; two sisters, Ester Rusch and Agnes Freund; a son-in-law, Edwin Burns and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church, 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Tuesday evening and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutehran Church.
