Cornelius Beech, age 79, of 308 North Pinecrest, father of Walter H. Beech, president of Beech Aircraft Corporation. Death was due to a heart attack. Born in Williamson County, Tennessee, and was a farmer all his life. Came to Wichita last April from Tampa, Florida. Survived by his wife, Tommy Hay Beech, three sons, Walter H. and R. K. Beech, of Wichita, and I. L. Brooks, of Morriston, Florida step-son??), and two daughters, Miss H. Maud Beech and Mrs. C. B. Peacock, at the home, and eight grand children. Two other children are deceased; Mrs. E. C. Burns, Birmingham, Alabama, died in 1936, and James W. Beech died at Pulaski, Tennessee in 1903. The Wichita Beacon, January 2, 1941, Page 6.
