Alex Grant Branch, 88, of Duncan, Oklahoma died Friday, September 9, 2011 in Lawton, Ok. surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be Monday, September 12th at Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, with Ron Stough officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Cemetery. Family visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alex was born August 22, 1923 in Duncan, the son of William Michael and Nellie McMasters Branch. He graduated from Wewoka High School and immediately went into the U.S. Army. He served his country proudly in the South Pacific during WW II. After returning from the war, he married Billie Jo Collinsworth on November 11, 1949 in Duncan. He began a career in the oil field and went to work for Magnolia Oil Company, now known as Mobil Oil. He retired from Mobil Oil in 1983.

Alex loved traveling, spending time with family, playing card games and watching OU Football and Thunder Basketball. He enjoyed attending church and reading his Bible.

Survivors include his wife, Billie of the home, a daughter Pam Ford and husband Kim of Duncan, a grandson Michael Estes and wife Renee, two granddaughters, Amy Eck and husband Jacob, Shanda Stratton and husband J.G., five great grandchildren, Ian Estes, Kaitlyn Estes, Austin Eck, Allison Eck, Jesse Glenn Stratton V, two nieces of Duncan, Phyllis Dismuke and Nancy Cockrell and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Patti Estes, his mother and father, a brother Steve Branch, and his sister, Ruth Rayburn.

Pallbearers will be Chip Ford, J.G. Stratton, Jacob Eck, Tommy Collinsworth, David Estes and Kenneth Lynn Collinsworth.

The family requests that memorials be made to: "In Search of the Lord's Way" at P.O. Box 371, Edmond, OK. 73083-9901.
