Services were at Memphis Funeral Home Union Chapel with burial at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.

The husband of Mary Gilbert Scarbrough, he leaves a daughter, Virginia Scarbrough of Memphis; a step-daughter, Marilyn Gilbert of Memphis; a son, L. Alex Scarbrough Jr. of Littleton, CO., a step-son, Ken Gilbert of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Mary Looney of Tupelo, MS., a brother, John P. Scarbrough of Memphis, a grandchild and two step-grandchildren.
