Elroya J. "Cig" Brown, 85, a longtime resident of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Aurora Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 15, 1918 in Aurora the daughter of Dr. Elroy F. and Oaka (Rhodes) Cigrand.
    Cig was a graduate of West Aurora High School and North Central College. She was united in marriage to the late Robert E. Brown on march 28, 1942. Cig taught in the West Aurora School District for 36 years during which she spent 33 years at Greenman Elementary School. She had been a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Aurora Retired Teacher's Association and the National Teacher's Educational Association. Cig and her late husband loved to spend their time boating.
    Survivors include her son, Michael (Carol) Brown of Aurora and her daughter, Mary (William) Coultrip of Somonauk; six grandchildren, Teresa Andrus, Michele (Chris) Motley, Kathryn Brown, Mark (Lisa) Coultrip, Mike Coultrip and Matthew Coultrip; and 13 great-grandchildren. Cig is also survived by a cousin, Carol (Al) Cigrand Musaraca of Aurora as well as a very close, special friend of the family, John (Rose) Dutko of Ohio.
    Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Rev. Gary McCann will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Dr. Bernard J.
