Obituary - Elzena M. Phalen - Elzena M. Phalen, age 92, of 2001 12th St., Two Rivers, died Friday morning, Nov. 30, 2007, at her home. Elzena was born March 22, 1915 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Theresa (nee Pupeter) Pelnar. On July 20, 1934 she married Roland G. Phalen in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1980. Elzena worked for Schwartz Manufacturing. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage in Mole Lake. Survivors included two granddaughters, Julie & Bruce Schwantes, Two Rivers; Jill & Dave Shada, Blue Springs, Mo.; five great grandchildren, Chris (Beth) Schwantes, Madison; Brett Schwantes, Two Rivers; Katrina Shada, Blue Springs, Mo.; Ryan Shada, Norfolk, Va.; Tyler Shada, Blue Springs, Mo.; one great-great-granddaughter Anna Schwantes; one sister-in-law, Doris Pelnar, Two Rivers; one nephew and two nieces, Polly and Jim Schaus, Newton; Sally & Todd Eesley, Two Rivers; John & Jill Pelnar, Howards Grove; and one son-in-law John Klein, Greenleaf. Elzena was preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Klein, and one brother, Alger Pelnar. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at 5 p.m.
