After locating near Bartlett, Kansas, Mr. Arnold engaged in farming for a short time, and in 1884, came to what was then known as the town of Kingston, 1 and 1/2 miles south of Edna, where he began his career as merchant, moving his stock of goods to Edna with the coming of the railroad in the fall of 1886. This long period of 52 years of serving his customers terminated in his passing away Sunday night. Mr. Arnold held membership in the Edna Baptist Church and was a member of the board of deacons. He was also a member of the Edna Masonic Lodge and the Knight Templers of Oswego. The funeral took place from the home in north Edna at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W.L.
