He was the son of John Marion Green & Martha Apalonia Duncan Green. His maternal grandparents were Elias Milton Duncan & Cornelia (Cordelia) Johnson Duncan. He was married to Willie Mae Mahan and they had no children. He worked for the railroad. His death was a result of being run over by a train, which severed his leg.
