Albert P. (Phil) Asbury was born July 28, 1934, in Rockwood, Illinois to Albert Anderson and Thelma Vivian (Frazer) Asbury. They preceded him in death. His siblings include Danny (Jan) Asbury of Columbia, Pat (Jerry) Young of Belleville, Ethel (Gene) Hagee of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Esther Orendoff.

He first married Mary Kathleen Mighell on November 11, 1955 in Randolph County. He then married Anita Metcalfe on December 17, 1976, in Cape Girardeau. They both survive. His children include Patrick (Mary Coffman) of Rockford; Carleta (Michael Miller) of San Antonio, Texas and Phyllis (David Dawley) of Anna. He leaves 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Asbury was a Baptist minister and sold insurance for Old American for 27 years. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion.

Phil Asbury died at the age of 66 on Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at St. Lukes Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.
