Kenneth A. Kaczala, age 68, of Whitehouse, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26, 1943, in Toledo to Henry and Genevieve (Bielecki) Kaczala. Ken was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years starting as a carrier and as a desk clerk for the main downtown Toledo branch, retiring December 31, 2001. Upon retirement Ken worked as a Marshall at Fallen Timbers Golf Course and drove the train at the Toledo Zoo. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel especially to Cancun and the Smoky Mountains. Ken enjoyed gardening and was known for his "hot tomatoes," pickles and making a variety of soups. He was a member of the Maumee Elks and past member of the Circle Eight Alliance of Poles, and Maumee Eagles Lodge, #1850. In his younger years, Ken played softball and darts. He also enjoyed Karaoke, especially "Doo Wop" Music. The greatest love of Ken's life was spending time with his family. At family gatherings, Ken was the "life of the party," always telling stories and making others laugh. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cynthia (Rosinski) Kaczala, whom he married September 18, 1965; loving daughter, Julie (Alan) Mutsko; brother, Ronald (Alice) Kaczala and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, David and Robert. Family and friends may gather Saturday, September 10, 2011, from 2:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 pm in the Maison - Dardenne - Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH.
