Sis. Dawson was born in Di Giorgio, Calif.; on Feb. 10, 1936, and had resided in Lamont for most of her life. since November 1959, she and her husband, Bro. Dearl Dawson, had pastored the First Jesus Name Church in Weedpatch, which was founded by Sis. Dawson's grandfather, J. L. Campbell, in 1935. The Dawson founded the church-operated First Jesus Name Christian School in 1967, and Faith Heritage Bible College in 1981.
Sis Dawson was instrumental in the pioneering of Several local Christian Schools, as well as many others throughout the United States. She held a doctorate in theology, ad her biblical prowess was respected throughout and beyond the States, as she was deeply involved in the Apostolic missionary movement.
As an evangelist, Sis . Dawson had traveled extensively throughout the United States. She and Pastor Dawson had visited both Israel and Brazil in recent years. Early in their marriage, during Pastor Dawson's military service, teh couple lived in Nuremurg Germany for approximately one year.
Sis Dawson ws preceded in death by one daughter, Leah, in 1967. She is survived by her husband, Dearl; thre sons, Michael, Daniel and David, all of Lamont; two daughters, Michelle Legg of Sioux Falls, S. D. ; and Revecca Dawson of Mission Viejo'; four grandchildren, Rita and Steven Legg of Sioux Falls, S. D.; and clay and Trace Dawson of Lamont; one sister, Vesta Burgess of Henryetta, Okla.'; two brothers, Boots adn Lynn Campbell, both of Colorado; and a world-wide multitude of relatives, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters, sons and daughters.
