Art married Sarah Deborah "Debby" Irwin 5 April 1905, and Arthur farmed in Cantrall, IL. Two sons and one daughter died in infancy. One daughter, Blanche Elton, married Henry Letz.
Art and Debby also raised a nephew, Earl Perry Irwin. Earl's mother died when he was young, leaving his father with three young children to raise alone.
