Seward resident Lars "Lonnie" Tysver, 78, died May 12 at Seward Hospital. A memorial service was in Spokane, Wash., and a wake was at Curley's Bar, Hauser Lake, Idaho. At his request, there was no funeral. His ashes were scattered over his favorite fishing holes.

Mr. Tysver was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Hazen, N.D. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Enterprise. Following the war, he returned to Spokane with his wife, Grace. He owned a radio and television repair shop in Spokane. In the late '60s, he and his wife moved to Hauser Lake, Idaho. He made yearly fishing trips to Alaska and decided in the summer of 1992 to make it his permanent home. Mr. Tysver was preceded in death by his wife, Grace.

He is survived by his brother, Bryce; and sister, Frances Glasner, both of Carmel-By-The-Sea, Calif.; his sister, Mary Hempleman of Great Falls, Mont.; his son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Carmel of Anchorage; his daughter and son-in-law, Lonnielea and Brian Viehouser of Nine-Mile Falls, Wash.; and grandchildren, Eric, Rachael, Robert, Jeffery, Debbie and Rebecca; and six great-grandchildren; and many friends. Memorials may be made in Mr. Tysver's name to Hospice of Anchorage, 3605 Arctic Blvd., #555, Anchorage, 99503. Arrangements were by Seward Funeral Home.
