Herbert August Grupe

Herbert August Grupe, 59, a Town of Centerville farmer, died Saturday afternoon at his home following a lingering illness.

Born in the town Feb. 22, 1900, he was a son of Christ and Anna Reinemann Grupe, who now reside in Sheboygan. On May 26, 1928, he married the former Mabel Hetzel. The couple lived on the homestead farm.

He was a member of St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland and of the Men's Club of the church.

Survivors are his wife; his parents; three sons, Vernon of rural Newton, Clarence of rural Cleveland, Earl at home; two daughters, Caroline and Joyce, both at home; a brother, Elmer of Sheboygan; a sister, Mrs. Adela Begalke, also of Sheboygan, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. The Rev. Elden M. Bode, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in the Town of Centerville.

Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapels in Cleveland until 11 a.m. Tuesday and then at the church.
