Lines (or Linus) was the son of Joseph Beecher and Esther Potter. His maternal grandmother was Esther Lines.
Lines married twice, first to Orpha Selkrigg, with whom he had nine children (Esther,Lucas, Sylvia, Maria, Irene,Lines, Marcus, Orphelia (Orpha) and Julius Caesar). Following her death he married Grace--- and fathered one more child named for his father. Several of his children remained in the area with others continuing westward.
