US Congressman. He graduated from Buffalo's Technical High School, was employed as a foreman in Buffalo’s Streets Department, and owned a restaurant. A Democrat, Gorski was a Delegate to the party's national conventions in 1948, 1952, 1956, and 1968. In 1941 he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Erie County Board of Supervisors. He won election to a full term in 1943, and served from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of the Buffalo Common Council from 1946 to 1948 and was Majority Leader in 1948. In 1948 he was elected to the US House of Representatives, and he served one term, running unsuccessfully in 1950 and 1952. From 1951 to 1952 he was Manager of the US Department of Commerce office in Buffalo. He served again on the Buffalo Common Council from 1954 to 1956, and was Majority Leader. From 1956 to 1959 he was a member of the New York Building Codes Commission. In 1960 he was elected President of Buffalo’s Common Council, and he served until resigning in 1974. Gorski suffered a stroke in 1972, and was in ill health afterwards, and he died at Buffalo's Mercy Hospital.
