Roger Joseph Archer, 80, of Latham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 13, 2011.
Roger was born in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of the late Joseph Clarence Archer and Mary Jane Wein Archer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Florence Ann Jones. He was also preceded by his brother, James B. Archer, sister, Cheryl Nye, and son-in-law, Robert d'Aversa.
Surviving are his daughters, Suzanne d'Aversa of Albany, Connie Fedden and husband Chris of Albany, Linda Moore and husband John of Pittsboro, NC, Alice Archer of Troy, and son, James Archer of Marion, VA. Also surviving is his grandchildren, Cheryl Fruiterman (David), David d'Aversa, Jon-Paul d'Aversa, and Marea Wright (Ken) all from Albany, Michael Moore (Tara), Andrew Moore, Daniel Moore, Bradley Archer (RaChelle), Rachel Archer, and Jerry Archer all of North Carolina, six great grandchildren, and brother-in-law Howard James Jones Jr. and wife Margie of Clarence Center, NY.
Roger was a graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio where he received her BS degree in Chemistry. He was retired from The U.S. Geological Survey – Water Division. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
