William Dugan, a longtime family friend and member of the church I grew up in, passed away of respiratory failure. He married his wife, Alice Peck, in 1950 in Teckamah, Nebraska. He attended Reed College, Harvard University, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor's degree in architecture. He later got his Master's degree in education. He served his country in WW2 in the Army Air Corps in the meteorology corps. He was a teacher and later school principal. He is survived by his wife Alice, and his three sons, Greg, of Indianapolis, Stuart, of Lacey, Washington, and Bryce of Portland, Oregon. He also had two grandchildren. His son Greg is exactly my age, and I recall many times in Bill and Alice's home, and how very cultured and gifted they were, both academically and musically.
