Edward was aviator like his father. After entering the service during the Korean Conflict, his plane was shot down on February 3, 1952, and he was declared MIA. This was his father's birthday. On December 31, 1952, he was declared dead while MIA. There is a marker at Arlington National Cemetery and he shares his mother's marker at Correct Park Cemetery Houston, TX.
His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial as well as listed on the Korean War Memorial in Dayton, Ohio, Texas Panel 3
