Donald Hastings, 76

RANCHO BERNARDO___

Donald Mayo Hastings, 76, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, of emphysema, in San Diego.

Born Jan. 11, 1923, in Washington, D.C., he lived in Rancho Bernardo for 14 years.
Retired after 37 years, he was a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer at the Department of Defense during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Hastings is survived by his wife of 52 years, Aggie Hastings of Rancho Bernardo; son Donald Hastings of San Francisco; daughter Donna Moreno of San Francisco; brother Robin Hastings of Virginia; sister Virginia Howells and Jean Anderson, both of Virginia; grandchildren Michelle Hastings, Natalie Hastings and Lisa Krueger; and Haley Krueger.

No services will be held at the request of the deceased. A private cremation is planned.
