Amy Mabel PETTIS was a daughter of Solomon Harlow PETTIS and Sarah Ann 'Sally' DAVIS.

She married 1st to Henry Charles PONWITH and they had one child: a Daughter Mabel Adelaide PONWITH born 1903 in St. Peter, Nicollet County, Minnesota. Mr. PONWITH was killed when he was cruched between boxcars at the stockyards where he worked.

Amy Mable PETTIS PONWITH married 2nd Jethro KLOSS also a widower with a Daughter Promise Joy KLOSS. The blended family added 3 more children. Eden Pettis KLOSS, Lucile E. KLOSS and Naomi Joan KLOSS. ).

Amy helped her husband at the Home Sanitarium in St. Peter where they practiced water and electric therapy for their patients. Jethro was a Seventh Day Adventist and was very concerned about health issues. He eventually began to work with soybeans and the soymilk. He also compiled many notes on various herbal remedies and eventually published a book called "Back to Eden" in 1939. This was an early health food and healthy practices booklet of alternative medicine.

Amy and family moved to Coalmont, Tennesse where they bought an old mill and began to manufacture crackers. They later were in Virginia where Amy Mabel died and was buried.

Amy Mabel PETTIS PONWITH married Jethro KLOSS on 31 March 1907 in St. Peter, Nicollet County, Minnesota. Both were widowed when they married for the 2nd time. Each had a daughter by their 1st marriages, Jethro's daughter was Promise Joy KLOSS. Jethro also had a son Paul KLOSS who died as an infant. His 1st wife Carrie STILSON died and was buried in Wisconsin with their infant son.
Amy and Jethro had 3 children together.
