MARQUETTE - Elizabeth I. McDonnell, 63, of 805 W. College Ave,. Marquette, died this morning at Marquette General Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday.
Born July 12, 1925, in Marquette to Rose Mary (Komara) and Joseph J. Zeish, she lived here most of her life. She worked as a legal secretary with Michigan Protection Advocacy for the past three years and previously worked 12 years for Upper Peninsula Legal Services. She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel McDonnell; two daughters. Lea Ann McDonnell of Minneapolis and Ellen Sue McDonnell of Marquette; two sons, Gregory of Escanaba and Joseph of Marquette; three sisters, Helen Peterson of Milwaukee, Wis., Ann Greenleaf of Marquette and Agnes Snelling of Stateline, Nev., and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Mary Smith and Margaret Zeish; and a brother, Joseph Zeish, died before her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Cathedral, with the Rev. Michael Steber as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends can call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Fassbender Funeral Home, where parish prayers are set for 6:30 p.m.
