He was born either in La Rochelle, France or the Netherlands. I had to choose one or the other for the top of this page so chose the Netherlands.
Jacob was Secretary of the Dutch West Indies Company. He is reputed to have mde several trips back and forth to America. It is not known if he died in the Netherlands or hear in America. For the birth date and place of his daughter Magdelena to make sence he must have died here in Brooklyn, NY
