Born November 4, 1995 in Charlotte, N.C., Clifton was a son of Mark Richard Carter and Amanda "Mandy" Romeis Carter. He was a sophomore at Fort Mill High School where he touched the lives of many. A talented athlete, Clifton played middle school football and soccer for Discoveries Premier team where, despite his gentle nature off the field, he was a fierce competitor on the pitch. He was confirmed at St. John's Methodist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Mark and Mandy Carter of the home; his sister, Emily Anne Carter of the home; his paternal grandparents, JoAnn Kane of Fort Mill and James H. Carter of Columbia; and his maternal grandfather, Robert M Romeis of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Billie A. Romeis.
