Mrs. Matthias died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
She is survived by a son, daughter, 23 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Lorfeld; second husband, Walter Matthias; and four children.

She was born June 24, 1909 in Centerville, Wis., to Edward and Emma (Rasner) Freis. She was a retired salesperson at Minnesota Fabrics.
She is survived by a son and daughter; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harvey Lorfeld and Walter Matthias; and four children.
Interment will take place in Wisconsin. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
