The Neodesha, Kansas, Daily Sun - September 25, 1939
Wilma Nadine Stark, daughter of Jesse Stark of this city, died this morning at 2:34 o'clock at Mt. Carmel hospital in PIttsburg, Kan. She had been ill for ten days and had undergone two operations for gangrenous appendix. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, but the place has not yet been definitely selected. Interment will be made in the family lot in Neodesha Cemetery, beside the grave of her mother, Mrs Edna Fulmer Stark, who died here on November 10, 1930. The body will lie in state at the Loren Fawcett funeral home.
Wilma Nadine Stark was born Jan. 23, 1921, near Neodesha, and was 18 years, 5 months and 4 days of age at death. She was educated in the Neodesha schools and graduated from high school with the class of 1939. She had only recently entered Kansas State College at Pittsburg when she became ill. She was a lovely young woman and her untimely death is a source of shock and grief to her friends as well as her family.
Survivors include her father, J.E. Stark, and wife, one sister, Jessie Pearl Stark, who is in training at Johnson hospital, Chanute; four brothers, Donald, Joe, Leslie and Bernard Lee, all of the home; one step-sister, Mrs Glen George of Cherryvale, and one step-brother, Vernon Fields, of Nowata, Okla.

Funeral services for Miss Wilma Nadine Stark, who died Monday at Pittsburg, were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Christian Church. The pastor, Rev. S. H. Barley, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. L.. A. Jacaway, pastor of the Bethel church, northeast of Neodesha.
The hymnal numbers, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "No Disappointments In Heaven" and "God Be With You," were sung by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. L. A. Jacaway, Mrs. C. R. Archibald, Ben Basore and Rev. Jacaway, accompanied by Mrs. Ella Parsons.
Interment was made in the family lot in Neodesha cemetery and casket bearers were Loren Riley, John Minker, Rodney Davis, Carlyle Carter, Kenneth Gable and James Upshaw. The flower carriers were Betty Black, Rena Redington, Genevieve Hoss, Barbara Havens, Rosetta Bevans, Helen Coltrain and Vivian Coltrain.
Out of town relatives attending the services were: Mr and Mrs Harold Offen and Bernie Lee, of El Dorado; Mr and Mrs Byron Fulmer and children, Tulsa; Mrs Dollie McDonald, Iva Regan, Orville Stark and Mr and Mrs Chas. Crowder, Bartlesville; Mr and Mrs Lloyd Stark, Vernon Field, and Mr and Mrs M. S. Smith, Nowata, Okla. ; Mr and Mrs Everett Smith, Thomas Smith, M. M. Smith and Mr and Mrs Bert Fulmer, Independence; Mrs Alice Crossfield and Mr and Mrs Bert Bowie, Altoona; Mr and Mrs Erdine Tanksley, Elk City; and Mr and Mrs Ola Stark, of Coffeyville.
Among the out-of-town friends in attendance were Mr and Mrs T. R. Holtzman of Fredonia.
