Albert J. Scheffler, 79, retired town of Centerville farmer, died at his home in Hika Wednesday following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 13, 1874 on a farm in Centerville, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Scheffler. On March 2, 1913 he married the former Ida Sixel following which the couple operated a Centerville farm until 1936 when they retired and moved to Hika.

Surviving are his wife; two brothers, William of Hika and Robert of Newton.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at SS. John and Peter Lutheran Church, Cleveland, with the Rev. Eldon M. Mode Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Kassa cemetery, Hika.

Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral chapels, Cleveland, from noon Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to be in state until the time of service.
