Mrs. Lydia E. Zimmermann, age 88, former town of Centerville resident, passed away Saturday, September 25, 1999, at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1999, at St. John & St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Cleveland. The Rev. Aaron Schoenik, Pastor, will officiate and burial will be at St. John Cemetery, town of Centerville.
She was born July 3, 1911, in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Herman and Louisa Hackmann Schuette. On September 6, 1934, she was united in marriage to Walter E. Zimmerman at St. John & St. Peter Ev. Lutheran, Cleveland. The couple resided in the town of Centerville, where they were engaged in farming until retiring in 1969. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984. Mr. Zimmermann preceded her in death in October, 1984. In 1986, she moved to Manitowoc. Mrs. Zimmermann was a lifelong member of St. John & St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Cleveland, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of Point River Homemakers Club.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Janelle Zimmermann, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jerry Bock, Apache Junction, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Dean Zimmermann, Shingle Springs, Calif., Diane Zimmermann Nelson, Ivanhoe, Ill., David Schneider, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Mark Schneider, Tucson, Ariz., Dean Schneider, Tucson, Ariz., Brian Schneider, Las Vegas, Nev., and Kim Schneider Harriman, Tucson, Ariz.; six great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Frieda Hartman, Sheboygan and Elsie Zimmermann, Plymouth.
Friends may call at St. John & St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Cleveland, after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of service.
A Memorial fund has been established in Lydia Zimmermann's name for St. John & St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church.
Stoltenberg Funeral Chapels, Cleveland are handling the arrangements.
