ROGER WAKEFIELD Died Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at his residence following an apparent heart attack

Roger was born in Oblong Township, Illinois on October 6, 1914. He was the son of Clifford and Ethel (Henry) Wakefield.

On November 16, 1935 he married Ruth Osborn.

He was a Farmer and Mechanic, working for Acme Chevrolet in Robinson, IL for 28 Years, retiring in 1976. From 1976 - 1978 he worked as a mechanic at Gene Hamilton's in Annapolis, Illinois.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong, Illinois. He belonged to The Oblong Masonic Lodge AF & AM # 644, Danville Consistory and Katherine Chapter O.E.S. He also loved to work in his yard.

His parents and one sister Ruth Wakefield preceded him in death. His wife Ruth and daughter and son-in-law Joane and Larry Laymon survive him. Sister-in-law Mary K. Osborn. Brother-in-law Basil Osborn. Grandchildren, Curtis R Garrard, Jason & Suzanne Garrard, Kevin Garrard, and April Ruth Garrard. Great-Granddaughter Shaley Marie Garrard. Also 2 Nephews, Paul Osborn and Jim Osborn. One niece Sherrie Ross.

Burial is in the Kirk Cemetery, Rural Robinson, Illinois.
