He was survived by his wife, Clyde Mays Propst-Fred L Jenkins Funeral home were in charge of the arrangements with burial at the Beverly Hills Cemetary in Morgantown, WV.

According to death certificate "Roy" died in a coal mine in the old Robinson Run mines in Maidsville WV. On March 27, 1942 The Autopsy report noted Fatty Infiltration of heart, edema of brain, cirrhosis of the liver as cause of death. Time of death was recorded as March 24th, 1942 at 12:30 AM.
Edward Propst of Mono WV was listed as the informant on death certificate.
