James Wyatt Alexander, 65, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, March 15, 2002. Visitation was Saturday evening. The funeral will be Sunday, March 17, 2002, at 2 p.m. At the New Bethel Baptist Church, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Lawrence Musgrove and Brother Thomas McDowell. He was a native of Colbert County.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Young Alexander; daughters, Susan Pendergrass and husband, Bobby, Tuscumbia, Vanessa Johnson and husband, Eddie, of Falkville, Tabatha McDowell and husband, Allen, Florence; mother, Blanche Alexander, Tuscumbia; sister, Deborah Estey and husband, Mike, Tuscumbia; brother, Waylon Alexander and wife, Helen, Portland, Tenn.; grandchildren, Caleb and Seth Pendergrass, Lucas and Leah Johnson, Alexander McDowell; eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Clifton Alexander.

Pallbearers will include Truman Johnson, Randy McDaniel, Harold Porter, Harry Porter, Jack Robison, Greg Shell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hester, Jimmy McKee, Sherman Holden, Grady Malone, Randy Gargis, Bryan Myrick.

He was retired from Reynolds Alloys. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for 35 years.

Colbert Memorial Chapel is directing.
