CORAL ANN ORRELL of Alvin, Texas passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on September 15, 2011. She was born September 3, 1936. Her parents, Jesse and Ruth McIntyre, raised Coral Ann in El Dorado, Arkansas. After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1954, she attended Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Upon college graduation, Coral Ann began her teaching career at Yocum Elementary in El Dorado. On June 6, 1959, Coral Ann married Donald Hugh Orrell from El Dorado, Arkansas. In 1963, Don and Coral Ann moved to Alvin, Texas. Don was employed by Monsanto at Chocolate Bayou while Coral Ann taught English at Alvin Jr. High. They were blessed with two children, Tammi and Kelli. In 1974, Coral Ann became the Alvin High School Distributive Education Coordinator, a position she held until her retirement in 1990. After becoming bored with retirement, she joined the staff of Alvin Animal Clinic. Due to health concerns and a desire to travel, Coral Ann chose to retire from the clinic.

Coral Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ruth McIntyre and her father-in-law, John Orrell.

Surviving is her husband, Don Orrell; her daughter, Tammi Lansford and husband Mike of Alvin, Texas; her daughter, Kelli Huggins and husband Todd of Brazoria, Texas; her three grandchildren, Kristen Huggins, Jim and Lauren Lansford; her mother-in-law, Lillie Orrell of El Dorado, Arkansas; her sister-in-law, Jackie Vasquez and husband Richard of El Dorado, Arkansas; her niece, Lisa Cashion and her husband Wayne of Quincy, Illinois; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546.

The Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Skipper Youngcourt officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Coral Ann Orrell Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 1666, Alvin, TX 77512-1666.
