Married 1st, John Lawrence (1814 - 1853) on 13 Sep 1833 in Rhea County Tennessee,and lived in Meigs county Tennessee. They moved to near Holden, Johnson County Missouri about 1844/45 and John died there September 1853.

After Asa's death in 1888, Martha returned to Missouri and lived with family until her death.

"Mrs. Martha Davis Hinds died of senile debility October 9, age 87 years, 6 days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Wilson. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Abernathy at Central Chapel in Central Township at 9:00 am Monday, October 10 and the body laid to rest in Lake Cemetery.
Martha Davis, the only daughter of Abram and Rebecca Davis was born October 3, 1817 and at 14 years of age was converted and joined the Methodist Church and continued to live a faithful member during her life.
In 1833 she was united in marriage to John Lawrence and to this union 8 children were born, 5 sons and 3 daughters. The three daughters survive her.
Her husband dying Sept. 16, 1853, she was reunited in marriage January 20, 1857 to Asa Hinds, to this union 1 daughter was born.
Mr. Hinds departed this life July 15, 1888, his widow surviving him until October 9, 1904. Her last request being to tell her children and grandchildren good-bye and that she was prepared to meet her Savior, and for them to live upright and be faithful in all things."
Known to her descendants as "Grandma Patsy"
