Obit:

SAVANNA — John F. Atkins, a resident of Savanna for 28 years, died Friday morning in Savanna City Hospital. He was 80.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Savanna and Frank of South Beloit; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne Thulen of Savanna, Mrs. Lyle Tipp of Rockford and Mrs. Harvey Eversoll of Loves Park; a brother, Elmer of Savanna; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Louthain of Galena and Mrs. Gus Williams of Portland, Oregon. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hunter Jones Memorial Home. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery.
