Born in Utica on May 2, 1923, she was a daughter of William J. and Maybell Adle Lerch. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended the Oneida Schools. Dorothy married Robert M. Dick, Sr. on March 15, 1946 in Great Bend, Pa. Mr. Dick died April 17, 1980.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Dick was a home health aide for Madison County Office of the Aging and had previously been employed with Gene's Bowling. Sally is a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Sylvan Beach Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Dick of Oneida and Janet and John Price of Whitelaw; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Diane Childs of Ithaca, James R. and Marie Dick of New York Mills, Robert M. and Tarie Dick, Jr. and Scott and Geraldine Dick, all of Oneida; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara Cukierski of Oneida and Diane and David Robinson of Sylvan Beach; two brothers, Robert Lerch of Oneida and Alverton "Jimmy" Lerch of Indianapolis, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Anne Houle on April 18, 2004 and three brothers, Wallace "John" Lerch in 1957, William J. Lerch in 1991 and Jack Lerch in 2008.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Brian Fellows, officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-7 p.m., Monday. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to Oneida City School District Foundation, 565 Sayles St., Oneida, N.Y. 13421.
