On May 30, 1971 Josie passed away. The only confirmation was that a Find a Grave photographed her grave marker and created a memorial for her. Josie was buried in Plot: C - 181 - 7 in the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Power County, Idaho.
On June 21, 1978 Robert Louis Austin followed his beloved Josie in death. They are both buried in the Falls View Cemetery where together they "Rest in Peace" (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
