Ill less than a week, Miss Maxine McBride died Monday morning at Lutheran Hospital in Omaha. Her sudden death came as a shock to her family and friends. She had become ill last Tuesday night, and was removed to the hospital Sunday after spending her 19th birthday Friday confined to her bed. Daughter of the late Charles McBride and Mrs. Hazel McBride, Maxine was born in Blair July, 25, 1922, and had spent her entire life here. She graduated from Blair high school with the class of 1939 and last year attended the University of Omaha. This year she had been employed at Robinson's café. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Hazel McBride; two brothers, Frederick and Charles McBride, both at home; and three sisters, Beverly McBride, in Alabama, Mrs. Kathleen Sellers of Blair and Pauline McBride at home. Maxine's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Petersen of San Diego, California, arrived here early this week and were present at the funeral services. Funeral services in charge of the Campbell Mortuary, were held at 4 p.m. yesterday at the Congregational Church, the Rev. R. W. Hastings officiating. Burial in Blair Cemetery was delayed until today, pending the arrival of Beverly McBride from Alabama. She arrived by airplane last evening.
