William Lindsey - Services for George William Lindsey, 14, of Dexter, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Joel Hafer will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Dexter.

A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Lindsey was a student at West Laurens High School, a member of Junior Auxiliary at Fairview Park Hospital, a member of the Dodgers baseball team on the Laurens County Recreation League, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He died early Tuesday afternoon.

Survivors include his parents, Don T. and Deborah Ridgdill Lindsey of Dexter, and Lamar Baxley of Louisville; a sister, Michelle Lindsey of Dexter; his maternal grandparents, Ann Wilcher of Louisville and John Ridgdill of Vidalia; his paternal grandparents, Virdella Yarbrough of Moultrie and W.T. Lindsey of Cordele, and Ruth M. Baxley of Milledgeville; his maternal great-grandmother, Louise Rountree of Twin City; his paternal great-grandmothers, Mamie Lou Lindsey of Norman Park and Virgie Lea of Big Bear Lake, CA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Pallbearers are Don T. Bryant, Ronnie Davis, Alan Sanders, Don Rountree, David Rountree and Raymond Pritchard.

Personnel of public safety, EMS, fire department, police, sheriff and state patrol will serve as honorary escort.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Adams Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Youth Fund of Christ Episcopal Church in memory of William.
