Hazel I. Mulch
Hazel Irene Mulch, daughter of Calvin
Todd and Edith Scott McNeil, was born
March 15, 1908 at Miltonvale, Ks., and
died May 31, 1995 at Republic County
Hospital in Belleville at the age of 87 years,
two months and 16 days.
She attended Manning Country School
and graduated from Miltonvale Rural High
School in 1925. She received a B.S. degree
from Kansas State University in 1966.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth
C. Mulch on March 25,1927 at Clay Center,
Ks., and to this union four children
were born: Betty, Georgia, Dixie and
Kenny.
Prior to marriage, she taught school
from 1925 to 1927 and after her children
were born she resumed teaching in 1943
and taught in various schools until her
retirement in 1973 from USD 427 after 32
years of teaching.
She moved to Munden in 1927 and then
to Belleville in the summer of 1952.
She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Belleville, United
Methodist Women.Ophel Chapter No. 115
Order of Eastern Star of Belleville, Delta
Kappa Gamma, Republic County Retired
Teachers Association and Munden B.B.
Club.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, one daughter, Georgia
Snyder, four sisters. Vera Compton, Annie
Flyer, Reva McNeil and Meta Pearce, three
brothers, Owen McNeil,.Elmer McNeil
and Ralph McNeil.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty
Trzicky of Munden, and Dixie Hoyt of
Manhattan, Ks., one son, Kenny Mulch of
Belleville, one sister, Eunice Lavoie of
Miltonvale, 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgranddchildren.
Services were held Friday, June 2,1995
at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist
Church in Belleville with Dr. Paul Morris
officiating. Burial was in Belleville
Cemetery.
