Mrs. Overton was the widow of Sam A. Overton, a candy distributor who died in 1946. She was born in Batesville, Ark., and lived in Memphis most of her life. She was a member of Olive Street Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. J.P. Lunati of 1260 Floyd Road and Mrs. Hazel Tierce of Palo Alto, Calif.: three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Freeny of Carthage, Miss., Mrs. Winnie Morris of 3749 Spottswood and Miss Mattie V. Cleveland of Jackson, Miss.: a brother, E. A. Cleveland of Corinth, Miss., two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
