~0bit~Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Belle Allen, 81, who died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Covalescent Home of complications of advanced age will be Friday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Allen was born in Quasqueton, Iowa, on December 4, 1891, the daughter of Reuben and Alberta Peyton Butterield. She was married to Sumner Sherman Allen on February 12, 1913, in Walker. Cora was an employe of Wilson Packing in Cedar Rapids for 15 years, retiring on a disability in 1953 and prior to that time had resided in Cedar Rapids for 35 years. Mrs. Allen is survived by one son, Paul Allen of Ankeny; eight daughters, Mrs. Walter Shields, 410 West Ninth St., Mrs. Norma Mitchell of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Paul Ward of Boone, Mrs. Bernard Blake of San Diego, California, Mrs. Ed Dudek of Spingville, Mrs. Charles Reed of Albuqerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Robert Thomas of Tama, and Mrs. Carl Myrmo of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Clarence Justin Butterfield of Independence, Gerald Peyton Butterfield of Cedar Rapids, Kenneth John Butterfield of Anamosa; 33 grandchildren, 31 great-grand-children and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Maynard John Allen, one daughter, Bernadine Allen, one sister Rita Steele, and one brother, Willard John Butterfield.
