Funeral Of O. W. Beatham
NORTH JAY, Sept. 7 - Funeral services for Orrion W. Beatham were held Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wallace Bryant, where he has made his home five years. Rev. Albert P. Watson of Wilton officiated. Inetrment was at North Jay cemetery. Present from out of town at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Erman Beatham, Malden, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Beatham, Brewer; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beatham, Bangor; Mrs. Mildred MacKenzie and son, James, Lincoln; Mrs. Nettie Averill and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Gage, Malden, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kimball and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Barker, Livermore Falls.

KINGMAN, Sept. 7-Funeral services for Orrion W. Beatham, 81, were Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wallace Bryant in North Jay, where he had made his home for the last five years. Rev. Albert P. Watson of Wilton officiated. Interment was in the North Jay cemetery. Mr. Beatham was born in Enfield, but the greater part of his life was in Kingman. He married Phebe A. Kimball of Macwahoc in 1879 who, with their five sons and daughters, survive him. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Nettie Averill, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was for 16 years a deputy sheriff of Penobscot county serving under Sheriffs Thayer, Fernandez and Farrar, and giving up the work three years ago because of ill heath. Present from out-of-town for the services where Mr. and Mrs. Erman Beatham of Malden, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Beatham of Brewer; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beatham of Bangor; Mrs. Mildred McKenzie and son James of Lincoln; Mrs. Nettie Averill, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Gage of Malden, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kimball and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Barker of Livermore Falls.

Orrin W. Beatham, 82, for many years a resident of Kingman and deputy sheriff of Penobscot county died Thursday after a long illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Bryant, at North Jay. The funeral will be there Saturday afternoon at three o'clock at the home of Mrs. E. Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pheobe A. Beatham; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Averill of Malden, Mass., two daughters, Mrs. Bryant and Mrs. Mildred MacKenzie of Lincoln; three sons, Ermie of Malden, Mass., Leroy of Brewer; and Clarence of Bangor; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Beatham was an efficient officer and was highly respected throughout Penobscot county, serving under sheriff Fernandez and Farrar.
