Kermit Elkins Summerall, 92, St. Florian, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, from natural causes.Kermit was born Dec. 24, 1908, in Maben, Miss., and was a resident of Lauderdale County for many years.He was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Kermit was a member of the IBEW558 for 60 years and a Shriner.The service will be Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home chapel, with George Echols officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends the same day as the service between noon and 3 p.m.Kermit is survived by his wife, Kyleen Knight Summerall, Mitchell-Hollingsworth; daughter, Grace Millsaps, Muscle Shoals; son, Jimmy Summerall, Cora, Wyo.; daughter, Myrna Crittenden, Huntsville; son, Kermit Summerall Jr., Huntsville. Kermit was preceded in death by his daughter, Frankie Crittenden; stepdaughters, Montez Knight and Tessa Echols. Kermit was blessed by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Chip Millsaps, David Millsaps, Richard Young, John Sherrod Jr., Bryan Echols and Johnny Echols. Rickie Hamm will serve as an alternate.The family gives a special thanks to the doctor and nurses for their loving care on third wing at Mitchell-Hollingsworth for the excellent care they gave Kermit.
