Alden Cass Black, 19 of St. Michael, ND began his journey to heaven on September 18, 2011 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Brian Moen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. The Wake for Alden will be held at St. Michael's Recreation Center on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael's Recreation Center will leave from the Wal-Mart Parking Lot on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Serving as Casket Bearers for Alden will be Melvin Langstaff Jr., Leland Cavanaugh, Joran Black, Tyler Black, Derrek Black, Brandon Jackson, Rock Baer Jr., Talen Lohnes, Shay WalkingEagle, Chris Geske, Coltan Littleghost and Joey Greene

Alden was born on November 4, 1991 in Devils Lake to Donna Black and Melvin Langstaff Sr. He attended Warwick Public School and graduated in May of 2011. Alden enjoyed playing basketball for the Warwick Warriors. He loved spending time with his family. Alden enjoyed family picnics, holidays and hunting with the "boys". Alden's daughter Zayla was born in May 2010, she was his pride and joy, the love of his life and he enjoyed spending every minute with her.

Alden is survived by his mother, Donna (Cody) Graywater; father, Melvin (Laura) Langstaff Sr.; biological father, William (Chief) Waanatan Jr.; daughter, Zayla Grace Black; brothers, Melvin Langstaff Jr., Cody Graywater Jr., Calden Graywater; sisters, Bailee Langstaff, Tiana WalkingEagle, Cherish Waanatan; grandmother, Lea Black; uncles, Curtis (Kristi) Black, Jim (Deanna) Baker; aunts, Joan (Perry) Black-Cavanaugh, Carol Black; special cousins, Clarissa Robertson and Shayna Black; step-brother, Brandon Langstaff; step-sister, Amber Langstaff; God parents, Dixie Omen and Clarence Leftbear; special friend, Kassi Delorme; he is also survived by numerous cousins.

Alden was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Peter Black, paternal grandparents, Carrie Red Day and William Waanatan Sr; aunt, Ann Marie Black; best friend, Vic (Tu-Tuff) Camp.
