Kyle Matthew Barna, 13, Port Charlotte, died Nov. 8, 2003. He was born Jan. 14, 1990, in Danbury, Conn. Formerly of Southbury, Conn., where he attended Pomperaug Elementary School, he moved to Port Charlotte five years ago. He was an eighth-grade student at L.A. Ainger Middle School in Rotonda West and was a memorable football player.

Survivors include his parents, John R. and Elaine; a brother, Sean of Port Charlotte; his paternal grandparents, John and Nancy of Florida; his maternal grandfather, James Leddy of Southbury, Conn.; nine aunts and uncles; and nine cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the daily chapel of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, Conn. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury. Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Englewood Area Athletic Association, c/o Premier Community Bank, P.O. Box 748, Venice, FL 34284-0748.
