Richard Nelson Abernathy, 24, brother of Mrs. Herbert Vickers of Nederland, died at a hospital Sunday night after a long illness. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the family residence at 250 Doucette, with Rev. J.A. Smart officiating and burial in Magnolia cemetery. Abernathy is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Abernathy of Beaumont; a brother, T.C. Abernathy of Beaumont; and five sisters, Mrs. Vickers, Mrs. Thelma Dugar, and Misses Glenmora, Merle, and Sammie Abernathy, all of Beaumont.
